Thundering River Part 1
White was all around them. White in the sky, white on the earth, white in the icy breeze that seared into Stonekit's eyes and made him clamp them, watering, shut. White swirled in the air and sliced through fur, battering the three cats mercilessly and submerging them, forcing them to become one with the white.
Stonekit would not let that happen. He pressed against the frail warmth of his sister, Mistykit, as she sat hunched over against the buffeting storm. He could tell by her posture, the hang of her head, that she was feeling the loss of their sister, Mosskit, like a part of them had been scooped out.
